The Department of Respiratory Medicine was established in 2001. The postgraduate (PG) course in Respiratory Medicine was initiated in 2010 with one PG seat. Currently, the department has three PG seats.

The department comprises a dedicated team of a Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor, Consultant, and Senior Residents, providing comprehensive academic, clinical, and patient care services.

The Department of Respiratory Medicine has a total of 30 beds for patient care, including a 5-bedded Respiratory Intensive Care Unit (RICU), a 20-bedded ward for the management of patients with various respiratory diseases, and 5 beds reserved for Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis (DRTB) patients.

The department is also equipped with facilities for the management of multidrug-resistant (MDR) cases and offers specialized respiratory care services to patients.
