Department of Medicine recently conducted a sequel to the last year's Medicine Updates. This CME is an annual affair remembering the Sanghmata Dr. Mukti Bhatnagar on her birthday on 16th January.The event began with key addresses by the chief patron Dr. Atul Krishna Sir and CEO, SVSU Dr. Shalya Raj who reminisced about the memories she had as a child with the Sanghmata.

This year's CME, titled SUMECON'24 had its theme as 'Medical Emergencies: Feeling More at ease' was attended by 150+ budding and well renowned physicians from Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring states. Dr. S.P. Sondhi Sir a celebrated physician from the city was kind enough to accept the invitation to be the chief orator and the guest of honour for the event. SUMECON'24 panned over 2 days i.e. 16th -17th January 2024 where the first day featured Key Lectures by well renowned physicians who are respectable figures in the medical Community. Dr. Amit Rastogi, Dr. SP Sondhi, Dr. Sandeep Bansal, Dr. Manish Kumar. Their wealth of knowledge and dedication towards patient care were the takeaway messages from their talks. The ease by which they inculcated important information pertaining to Medical Emergencies was truly impressive and would definitely help the new doctors in managing patient care. Following the very informative Lectures was a hands on workshop on 2D ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY headed by Dr. Amit Sharma ,Head of Cardiology,CSSH. The first day ended with the Organizing Secretary of the event Dr. Saurabh Singhal felicitating the Speakers And chairpersons for their kind presence and active participation to make the event a success. The attendees gathered again the next day i.e. on 17th January 2024 to show their skills while presenting papers and posters advocating the recent areas of research and advancements in the field of medicine. Dr. Shweta ,Dr. Sandhya,Dr. Sumit Kant Jha,Dr. Shirobhi Sharma,Dr. Anterpreet Kaur were the judges of this competition who evaluated the applicants on the basis of their knowledge, presentation and relevance of their presentation to the current scenario in medical science. There were 3 winners each from the poster and paper presentation category who were graciously awarded. This ceremony was followed by a hands on workshop by Dr. Eema Chaudhary,Head of Department, Respiratory Medicine who very immaculately taught Bronchoscopy to the participants. All in all SUMECON'24 was an academic fiesta that ensured exchange of knowledge and an invaluable experience that fostered not only professional growth but lasting connections.
