About

Department of Ophthalmology was established in 2002. It was first headed by Dr. R. K. Gupta. In 2010, the department found its new and permanent home on fifth floor of Subharti Medical College building.Then the nationally famous Dr. K.P.S. Malik joined the department in 2010.

Our department is well equipped with cornea, retina, glaucoma, squint and oculoplasty clinics. Eye bank facilities are provided here. Customized artificial eyes can be made for the needy.

It started by catering 100 MBBS studentsper year and it grew in leaps and bounds to accommodate the teaching of 150 MBBS students and in case of PG teaching, it started with 02 PGs per year in 2010. The seats further increased to 06 in 2017 and till date 36 PG students have passed out.

Our department alumni are doing good in Ophthalmology fields. They have even acquired superspecialities in retina, vitreoretinal surgeries and oculoplasty and they are running their own well known Eye Hospitals.

Faculty members of the department are member of important committees like U.P. Ophthalmological society, Delhi Ophthalmological Society, All India Ophthalmological society, NAAC.
